Run Sunset Beach is the flagship event of the BAM! Race Series, where the acronym BAM stands for Big Ass Medals. The event takes place at Sunset Beach, North Carolina. There is a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and one mile race. The course winds through a golf course community and circles the entire mainland of Sunset Beach. The route includes a bridge with a 65′ elevation onto the island, touring its entire length from East to West before concluding back on the mainland in the waterfront park.
All participants get a huge medal and shirt. Those who run any combination of the 5K, half marathon, full marathon, or virtual events across all four BAM races within a calendar year earn extra swag.
