Get ready for an incredible Pinkathon 2023, a powerful event aimed at making a difference in the fight against breast cancer. This year, the Pinkathon offers a unique experience, happening both as an in-person event on Saturday, October 21, 2023, and as a Virtual Challenge throughout the entire month of October. This means you can run, walk, or cycle any distance, wherever you are, be it in bustling cities like New York, Chicago, LA, or in global hubs like London, Tokyo, or New Delhi.
For the in-person event, participants will gather near the inviting outside patio of Gott’s Roadside Restaurant, located on the north end of the iconic San Francisco Ferry Building. It’s the perfect starting point for a day filled with purpose and determination.
Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women, as well as some men, in their lifetime. The Pinkathon is a rallying cry to stand up against this formidable adversary. Together, we aim to raise $50,000 before December 31, 2023, one mile and one dollar at a time. You can contribute by making a donation to any member of our Fundraising Team, and every single donation counts in our collective effort.
The Pinkathon prides itself on being a Free, Unsanctioned, Do-It-Yourself Fat Ass Fun Run/Walk. While you won’t find official race elements like trail markings, aid stations, or awards, we provide participants with essential support. You’ll receive printed and downloadable maps highlighting crucial points like water stations and bathrooms along the course.
As part of the event, there will be an exciting Pinkathon Raffle with fantastic prizes up for grabs. You can also take advantage of gear bag storage for your convenience.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the Pinkathon is the diverse community that comes together. People of all ages and abilities, adorned in vibrant shades of pink (although it’s optional), will unite for a common cause.
The Pinkathon 2023 is not just a race; it’s a movement, a statement, and a powerful way to make a tangible impact in the fight against breast cancer. Lace up your shoes, join us in person or virtually, and be a part of this incredible journey towards a future without breast cancer.
