The annual Kewash Half Marathon offers a 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. The USATF-certified race course unfolds along the Kewash Nature Trail, a former railroad bed stretching nearly 14 miles between Keota and Washington, Iowa. The race starts and ends in the Washington town square.
There are plenty of prizes to be won, separated by race, gender, and age. The overall half marathon winners will receive $100, 2nd place winners get $75, and 3rd place winners get $50. There are age group awards for the top three in each age group. All-time course record winners get a $1,000 cash prize.
There are custom finisher medals for all half marathon finishers. After the race, there is a party featuring food trucks, music, and games. Participants get a ticket for a free beer for the post-race celebration.
