Do you love to run? The race organizers of the Fort Smith Half Marathon suggest marking your calendars for September and celebrating your love of running in the best way possible. The second largest city in Arkansas plays host to the half marathon, along with a full marathon and marathon relay, in downtown Fort Smith. Starting mere meters from the Arkansas-Oklahoma border, the Fort Smith Half Marathon takes runners past the Fort Smith National Historic Site and the Fort Smith National Cemetery before leading runners southeast toward the halfway point through Hardscrabble Golf Course. Runners will then turn around and make their way back to the start line (which serves as a dual start/finish line) along Old Greenwood Road and N B Street.
