Raise your (chocolate) bar to new heights in this delicious treat of a race. The Ooh LaLa Chocolate Half Marathon, 10K, & 5K is billed as “the best chocolate run in Chicagoland.”

Offered in partnership with All Chocolate Kitchen, a boutique coffee and baked treats store in Geneva, this race celebrates your sweet tooth and fitness goals alike. Chef Alain Roby, owner of All Chocolate Kitchen, is famous for his three delicious Guinness World Records for the “World’s Tallest Cooked Sugar Building,” “World’s Tallest Chocolate Sculpture,” and “World’s Longest Candy Cane.”

Runners depart this out-and-back race from the starting line near the Kane County Courthouse. After the first mile, the race follows the asphalt Fox River Trail. Participants will crisscross the river several times along pedestrian bridges and enjoy a peaceful race soaking in the late autumn colors. Upon returning to the finish line, runners are treated to an afterparty featuring hot chocolate and chocolate treats alongside a selection of fruit, bagels, and more. As of 2022, the course limit for the half marathon will be 4 hours. Walkers are discouraged from this race, since participants will need to maintain at least a 15-minute per mile pace. Want to travel in for the race? The Comfort Inn & Suites of Geneva offers a special $100 room rate, packet pick up at check in, an early 5:00 AM pre-race breakfast, and a hotel shuttle to and from the starting line.
