Experience the unparalleled beauty of West Virginia’s Greenbrier River Trail at the 2024 Greenbrier River Trail Marathon & Half Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, October 6. This unique event offers runners the opportunity to traverse the scenic trail through Pocahontas County, taking in breathtaking views and enjoying a memorable racing experience.
The full marathon, spanning 26.2 miles, presents a point-to-point course with a flat to slightly downhill gradient of 1%. Starting at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park, participants will journey south along the Greenbrier River Trail, culminating in a triumphant finish at Stillwell Park in Marlinton, WV. The course is USATF-certified, ensuring an accurate and professionally sanctioned race.
Meanwhile, the half marathon offers a captivating out-and-back course covering 13.1 miles. Starting and finishing at Stillwell Park in Marlinton, runners will venture onto the trail, heading southward. At the halfway point, located 6.55 miles from the start, participants will make a turnaround before retracing their steps to the finish line at Stillwell Park.
