Featuring a fast and scenic course, this summer half sells out quickly every year. This point-to-point race begins adjacent to the Cuvaison Carneros tasting room and wanders through some of the most picturesque places in Napa Valley.
The finish line at the Sonoma Plaza is the perfect spot to celebrate after running 13.1 miles with over 20 wineries pouring their goods at the Wine and Music Festival.
2) Zooma Napa Valley Half Marathon & 10K • Napa, CA • June 20, 2015
With a start/finish line at the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel and Spa, this women’s only half marathon is a perfect destination race. The out-and-back course takes runners past nearby vineyards and offers beautiful mountain views.
Runners can soak in the scenery of the luscious and green California wine country. A post-race party promising wine, post-race massages, shopping, and music will make this race an unforgettable experience.
3) Fueled By Fine Wine Half Marathon • Dundee, OR • July 12, 2015
Selling out in prior years, the Fueled By Fine Wine half marathon is both gorgeous and challenging. A different course is laid out each year through the Dundee Hills region, the heart of Oregon wine country.
Runners will be treated to views of both vineyards and wineries as they race 13.1 miles. Each runner can celebrate their finish at the post-race celebration where participants and their guests are invited to sample some of Oregon’s best wines.
4) Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon • Carlton, OR • Aug. 8, 2015
Nestled in the heart of the Willamette Valley, this half marathon is a special treat for pinot noir lovers, the most prized wine in this region. The start line is located at the Stoller Family Estate and runners race through four American viticulture areas (Dundee Hills, Yamhill-Carlton, Chehalem Mountains, and Ribbon Ridge).
The point-to-point race finishes in Carlton and more than 20 wineries will be offering tastings during the post-race Wine and Music Festival.
5) Wineglass Half Marathon • Corning, NY • Oct. 4, 2015
The full marathon offered during the weekend series is known for creating Boston-qualifying conditions. This fast point-to-point race features an elevation drop of a total of 40 feet as runners travel from Campbell to Corning, N.Y.
The Finger Lakes wine country is a beautiful backdrop for 13.1 miles and runners can soak in the scenery as they travel along the Cohocton riverfront. Sign up early as this race sells out quickly!
6) Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon • Purcellville, VA • May 30, 2015
Located just an hour west of Washington, D.C., this half marathon will make runners feel far away from hustle and bustle of city life. The loop course starts and finishes at the Doukenie Winery and passes vineyards, farms, and ranches along the way.
A midpoint water and wine stop is hosted by Hiddencroft Vineyards. Stick around after the race to enjoy a post-race party featuring local wines and live music.
7) Divas Half Marathon DC Wine Country • Leesburg, VA • Sept. 26, 2015
The Divas series features races all over the country, but this is the only one with a start/finish line at a winery. Runners begin at the Tarara Winery and will wind their way their way through the countryside on this loop course.
After 13.1 miles of vineyards, old country churches, and rolling green pastures, runners finish at the 435-acre winery situated along the Potomac. Be sure to wear your pink tutu included in your race packet to the after party!
8) Messina Hof Winery Half Marathon • Bryan, TX • March 29, 2015
As one of the five half marathons offered in the Texas Wine Series, this race is located near College Station, Texas. The out-and-back course is mostly flat and on paved roads. The post-race wine and food event features a commemorative wine glass, wine flight, and catered food. Plus, your spectating team is invited to join the post-race fun for $45 per person.
9) Michigan Wine Trail Half Marathon • Baroda, MI • Aug. 16, 2015
With a challenging course and scenic winery views, this half marathon is a wonderful way to see the wine country of Michigan. Runners will pass by Lemon Creek Winery, Domaine Berrien Cellars, Free Run Cellars, and Gravity Winery over the course of 13.1 miles. The race offers only 1,000 spots in the half marathon, so sign up early in order to reserve your spot.
10) Harvest Half Marathon • Paso Robles, CA • Oct. 25, 2015
The start/finish line of the loop course of the Harvest Half Marathon is at Le Vigne Winery in Paso Robles, California. Runners will be able to see the beautiful vineyards of the northeastern wineries of Paso Robles. After finishing the race, runners can enjoy tastings at the host winery or hang out in the beer and wine garden until 1:00 PM.
